The future of fine jewelry

Did you know?

Mined Diamonds
Mined diamonds are created under the pressure of earth’s crust over billions of years, then they are mined, cut and polished. They are chemically composed of crystallised carbon. A mined diamond is a natural gemstone formed over billions of years through unique geological processes, making it a rare and unrepeatable creation of the Earth. Once all the natural diamonds from one site are extracted, new stones will no longer be available from the same site.
Mined diamonds usually have some imperfection/inclusions. The slight variations in color or texture in a mined diamond are sometimes preferred by those who appreciate the organic beauty of a naturally formed stone.
No mined diamond would ever be exactly identical to another.
Lab Grown Diamonds
Lab grown diamonds are real diamonds.
They are composed of crystallised carbon just like natural diamonds so the two have the same appearance and the same chemical, physical and optical characteristics. Lab grown diamonds are identical to earth mined diamonds in every way, except that they are grown in a lab.
There are two processes used to create LGD:
Chemical Vapor Deposition Diamonds (CVD). A “seed crystal,” it uses carbon-rich gases to grow diamonds layer by layer.
High Pressure High Temperature Diamonds (HPHT). This is meant to replicate the earth’s process of forming Natural Diamonds. In this process, natural graphite is placed in a large machine that crushes it with extreme pressure and temperatures. Under these conditions, the graphite turns into a diamond.
